Wisdom Teeth and Crafting

I got all four of my wisdom teeth out this Friday (from which I have since recovered like a champ), so the day before my mom and I bought loads of supplies from the craft store to keep me busy. There were a ton of projects I had been meaning to get to, so the kitchen table has been completely absorbed by crafting.

The project I was most excited about was this: http: //honestlywtf.com/diy/diy-wrap-bracelet/

I made a whole bunch and I really like how they turned out.

I used gold spray paint to make the chains gold since I only had silver ones laying around. The color turned out a little odd, but I think it works. I definitely want to make more, but I'm out of chain for now.

Word Associations

I was thinking about word associations the other day and realized that when I think blog, I think neglect...because I have really really neglected this blog. But, the other day I was online browsing and realized that when I think online purchases, I also think shoes. And so I will solve this word association with neglect (which I like to avoid as much as possible with the things I start) by showing you my new shoes that arrived just a few days ago in the mail and telling you why I like them so much:

I LOVE THEM (even though I'm afraid that they may be a half size too big) and not just because they look so much like these Prada ones which I could never afford

but because they're bright and will go with all of the black I like to wear and they're quirky. They're really comfortable and they make me happy to look at them on my feet. Also they make me a little bit taller and it's always a nice experience to take a break from being short.

I'm knitting a pillow cover (case?) right now
which I'll show you later

Misfits

My brother told me about the show "Misfits" a while back, but I completely forgot about it until a few days ago when I stumbled upon it on hulu. I've gotten rather obsessed already. It's definitely worth checking out, especially if you are a fan of other E4 shows.

Tassel Earrings

I'd been meaning to try making tassel jewelry for a while after seeing this:

I finally got around to it last week.

Also, here are my cats cuddling.

Knitted Heart

Our friend and dormie Mary left school a week earlier than everyone else because of her sister's wedding, so I attempted to knit her a little heart as a goodbye gift.

It was my first try at this pattern, so it turned out a little funny, especially at the increase. Whatever, she appreciated it none the less.

I want to try the pattern again and see if I can get it a little nicer looking. I've seen some adorable mobiles made with knitted hearts that I would like to try and copy. We'll see.

Zebrafish

We had a really amazing HA (the equivalent of most school's RA) on our floor. He was a biology major and  did his thesis on zebrafish, so as  thank you, I knitted him one.

It's not totally biologically correct or anything, but I tried.

I think I'll make a lot of stuffed animals this summer since I feel less inspired to knit warm, cozy things when it's hot out.

Hair

Lately, I've found myself talking about hair a lot. Eva constantly complains about not having hair like Keira Knightley (or rather being Keira Knightley, but sometimes we can be realistic and just talk about wanting her hair) and I'm back to searching my favorite hair styles on the internet and obsessing over the colors that I could never pull off. Anyway, this is probably because we both need haircuts. My long, red/brown, curly hair is past my waist now and I don't know that Eva desperately needs a haircut, but sometimes just to complain (also perfectly reasonable*)

On to some hair, Keira Knightley to start:

Eva's obsession: Keira Knightley with bangs

My obsession:

 blonde and pink

Proenza Schouler 2010 runway hair
(I'm still a little bit in love with pastel hair color. Unfortulately, it only works on blondes with thin hair and the hour that I was seriously considering doing this to myself was also the hour that I talked myself out of it)

I like to call this blonde blonde because there is no mistaking the color. I think it's cool, most people I've ever talked to about hate it, but maybe that's only when people bleach their eyebrows too (also usualy pretty cool in my book)

I guess it makes sense to obsess over hairstyles that would never work because if it worked for me, I would have it already, besides I like my hair

*just to clarify, you have perfectly nice hair Eva
